Article 1 – Introduction
These Terms & Conditions govern participation in the R2 Loyalty Program (the “Program”), operated by W.F. Retail B.V. (“R2”, “we”, “us”). By enrolling in the Program, you agree to be bound by these terms. We reserve the right to amend these terms at any time; continued participation following notification of changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
The Program is managed using technology provided by LoyaltyLion. Please refer to Article 10 for details regarding platform responsibilities and limitations.
Article 2 – Eligibility
Participation in the Program is subject to the following conditions:
- You must be at least 18 years of age.
- You must hold a registered account on r2.amsterdam.
- The Program is available to private individuals only. Commercial accounts and resellers are not eligible.
- Participation is limited to one account per person. Duplicate accounts will be removed and associated points forfeited.
- R2 reserves the right to suspend or terminate participation at any time in the event of suspected fraud, abuse, or violation of these terms.
Article 3 – How to Earn Points
Points are awarded on qualifying purchases made on r2.amsterdam. The rate at which points are earned depends on your current tier: Silver 3 points per euro / Gold 4 points per euro / Platinum 5 points per euro / VIP 5 points per euro. Points are calculated on the final transaction value, excluding shipping costs, taxes, and the value of any vouchers or discounts applied.
Points may also be earned through the following actions:
- Account creation: 280 points
- Refer a Friend: 1,000 points (Silver/Gold) or 1,500 points (Platinum/VIP), awarded when the referred friend makes a qualifying purchase of at least €100. The referred friend receives a €10 welcome voucher.
- Following R2 on Facebook: 60 points
- Following R2 on Instagram: 60 points
- Following R2 on LinkedIn: 60 points
R2 reserves the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any earning opportunity at any time.
Article 4 – Redeeming Points & Vouchers
Accumulated points can be redeemed for Reward Vouchers, which are applied as a discount at checkout. Vouchers are issued automatically once the required point threshold is reached. Reward Vouchers are valid for 6 months from the date of issue. The following conditions apply to all vouchers:
- Vouchers may not be applied to sale items.
- Vouchers cannot be exchanged for cash.
- Vouchers are non-transferable and may only be used by the account holder.
- Only one voucher may be applied per order, unless stated otherwise.
Article 5 – Point Expiration
Points are valid for 12 months from the date of your last qualifying purchase. If no qualifying purchase is made within this period, all accumulated points will expire automatically. As tier status is determined by your active point balance, expiration of points will result in a return to Silver tier. There is no separate tier reset mechanism — tier status reflects your current point balance at all times.
R2 will endeavour to notify members in advance of point expiration, but accepts no liability for points that expire due to inactivity. It is the member’s responsibility to monitor their point balance and expiry date via their account.
Article 6 – Tier Structure & Benefits
The Program consists of four membership tiers: Silver, Gold, Platinum, and VIP. Tier status is determined by your active point balance.
- Silver: €0–€449 cumulative spend / 0–2,999 points
- Gold: €449–€899 cumulative spend / 2,999–8,249 points
- Platinum: €900–€1,999 cumulative spend / 8,249–18,999 points
- VIP: €2,000+ cumulative spend / 18,999+ points
Tier benefits include accelerated point earning, birthday vouchers, extended return periods, Early Access to sale events, and a VIP discount. Full details are available at r2.amsterdam/pages/loyalty. R2 reserves the right to adjust tier thresholds or benefits with prior notice.
The following return benefits apply per tier:
- 60-day return period: available to all tiers (Silver, Gold, Platinum, VIP).
- Free return shipping within the European Union: available to Gold, Platinum, and VIP members. Silver members pay the standard return rate per destination as set out in the R2 General Terms and Conditions.
- United Kingdom, Norway, Switzerland, and all non-EU countries: return shipping costs are at the customer’s own expense, regardless of tier.
Article 7 – Voucher Conditions
Reward Vouchers are issued in increments of €5 and are redeemed against qualifying purchases. They are valid for 6 months from the date of issue, cannot be used on sale items, and carry no cash value.
A Birthday Voucher is issued annually to eligible members based on the date of birth registered in their account. The voucher is sent during the member’s birthday month and is valid for 30 days from the date of issue. Birthday Vouchers are subject to the same usage restrictions as Reward Vouchers. Birthday Voucher values per tier: Silver €5 / Gold €5 / Platinum €10 / VIP €15.
R2 processes date of birth data solely for the purpose of issuing Birthday Vouchers, in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable GDPR obligations.
Article 8 – Refer a Friend
Members may refer new customers to R2 using a unique referral link generated via their loyalty account. The following conditions apply:
- The referred friend must be a new customer with no prior account on r2.amsterdam.
- Points are awarded to the referring member only after the referred friend makes a qualifying purchase of at least €100.
- The referred friend receives a €10 welcome voucher, subject to the general voucher conditions in Article 7.
- Referral points are awarded at the rate applicable to the referring member’s current tier at the time the qualifying purchase is made.
- R2 reserves the right to withhold referral points in cases of suspected abuse or self-referral.
Article 9 – Program Changes & Termination
R2 reserves the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Program or any of its features at any time. Where reasonably practicable, members will be notified in advance of material changes via email or via the R2 website.
Members may withdraw from the Program at any time by closing their account or contacting R2 customer service. Upon termination, all accumulated points and vouchers will be forfeited.
R2 may terminate a member’s participation without prior notice in the event of fraud, abuse, violation of these terms, or any conduct deemed detrimental to R2 or its customers. Forfeited points and vouchers will not be reinstated. Personal data will be retained or deleted in accordance with the R2 Privacy Policy and applicable legal retention obligations.
Article 10 – Platform Disclaimer (LoyaltyLion)
The Program is operated using technology provided by LoyaltyLion Ltd. LoyaltyLion acts solely as a platform provider for the management of loyalty data and is not a party to the relationship between R2 and its members. R2 is responsible for the administration of the Program and for resolving any queries or disputes arising from participation. LoyaltyLion accepts no liability for the accuracy, availability, or completeness of loyalty data.
In the event of a technical error, data discrepancy, or service disruption attributable to the LoyaltyLion platform, R2 will endeavour to resolve the issue in good faith but accepts no liability for losses arising from platform failures beyond its reasonable control.
Article 11 – Force Majeure
R2 shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performing its obligations under these terms where such failure or delay results from circumstances beyond its reasonable control. This includes, but is not limited to, acts of God, natural disasters, war, civil unrest, government action, strikes, pandemics, or failures of third-party infrastructure including the LoyaltyLion platform. In such circumstances, R2’s obligations will be suspended for the duration of the event. R2 will take reasonable steps to notify affected members and to resume normal operations as soon as practicable.
Article 12 – Data & Privacy (GDPR)
R2 processes personal data in connection with the Program in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and applicable Dutch data protection law. The following legal bases apply:
- Performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR): administration of the Program, including point tracking, tier management, and voucher issuance.
- Consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR): processing of date of birth for the purpose of issuing Birthday Vouchers. You may withdraw this consent at any time by contacting webshop@r2.amsterdam. Withdrawal does not affect your continued participation in the Program.
- Legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR): fraud prevention and program integrity.
Data collected includes: name, email address, purchase history, points balance, tier status, voucher history, referral activity, and date of birth (if provided). Loyalty profile data is retained for 2 years after your last qualifying purchase, after which it is anonymized or erased. Order and transaction data is retained for 7 years in accordance with Dutch tax law.
Members may exercise their rights under GDPR — including the right to access, rectify, object to, or erase their data — by contacting R2 at webshop@r2.amsterdam. Article 13 – Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Netherlands. Any disputes arising from or in connection with the Program shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Amsterdam.
