As we move into the new season, modal is earning its place in more styles than ever. Modal is often referred to as 'silk modal', and for good reason. This semi-synthetic fibre, spun from beechwood pulp, is exceptionally soft, breathable and smooth to the touch. It absorbs moisture well, drapes naturally and keeps its shape wash after wash. In a blend with cotton, you get the best of both worlds: the softness and luxurious feel of modal, combined with the structure and durability of cotton.
At R2, we believe that even the everyday pieces in your wardrobe deserve a subtle detail or something a little unexpected. Modal makes that easy. It elevates a basic knit without drawing attention to itself.
NEW THIS SEASON
We have added four new styles in modal-cotton blend to the collection.
Two new zipper polos bring a clean, contemporary take on a classic silhouette. Easy to layer, easy to wear.
The long-sleeve polo is knitted from a cotton-modal blend with a fine knitted structure. The result is a comfortable, considered knit that works across occasions without effort.
The modal blend overshirt is knitted from the same soft cotton-modal blend, with a natural stretch that comes from the knitted construction. An easy layer for everyday wear, with a handfeel that speaks for itself.
All four styles carry the same quiet quality that modal brings: soft, breathable and built to last beyond the season.
HOW TO WEAR IT
The zipper polos work well layered under an overshirt or worn alone on warmer days. The long-sleeve polo pairs naturally with tailored pieces for a considered, put-together look. The overshirt earns its place as the finishing layer over a t-shirt or lightweight knit as the evenings get cooler.
